Empowerment

SEI's Empowerment Programs serve eligible households in increasing their economic and social mobility. Supporting families through comprehensive long or short-term case management, career and skill development and eviction prevention services and classes. SEI aims to increase and sustain long-term economic well-being and growth of the families we serve.

Multnomah Stability Initiative (MSI)

About

At Self Enhancement Inc (SEI), our mission through the Multnomah Stability Initiative (MSI) program is to empower income eligible African American and other low-income households towards achieving economic and social mobility.  We foster hope, leadership, and community engagement to prevent crises, promote stability, and open pathways to prosperity. By investing in and enhancing human capital, we ensure sustained economic well-being and growth for our entire community.

ELIGIBILITY

Households with income at 200% poverty level  

  • At least 1 child under the age of 18  

  • Invested in long-term case management (12-36 months) 

  • Invested in programs designed to increase income and/or earning potential 

  • Currently housed

Bridge Program

The Bridge Program supports families transitioning out of our Housing Programs by fostering community connections through educational workshops and gatherings that celebrate African American culture. Its goal is to enhance both individual and community health, promoting economic and social mobility.

Eligibility

  • Must be graduating MHT programming

  • Currently housed-Has a lease in your name)

  • Income at 200% federal poverty level,

  • Have at least one child under the age of 18

  • Invested in long-term case-management (12-36 months)

  • Invested in programs designed to increase income and/or earning potential

  • Workshops and Events are by invitation only

Work Force Development Academy (WDA)

The Workforce Development Academy (WDA) offers workshops and case management focused on economic sustainability, mobility, and family prosperity. Emphasizing career advancement rather than just employment, WDA provides comprehensive pathway exploration and personalized support to help individuals achieve fulfilling, long-term careers that enhance the community's overall prosperity.

Eviction Prevention

SEI offers Eviction Prevention through Short Term Rent Assistance (STRA), Ready to Rent workshops and short-term case management to prevent houselessness and increase housing stability for eligible families. The goal is to provide financial support and connect families to essential resources to promote lasting housing stability.

  • Eligibility

    • Must reside in Multnomah County (on the lease) 

    • STRA Coordinator will determine eligibility at time of appointment
