Juneteenth had an extra kick this year, and the SEI Elite Dance Team had the opportunity to participate in an eye-opening round-up with a wardrobe made in our very own Makerspace Studio.

We welcomed the second annual 8 Seconds Juneteenth Rodeo. The event celebrates the Black cowboy and spotlights Black athletes. The rodeo brings the Portland community together. As described by the rodeo’s cofounder, Ivan McClellan, Black Rodeo is “the perfect blending of hip-hop culture, Black church, and Western culture.”
